SHIPLEY, Jean Isobel peacefully with family by her side at Gateway Haven Nursing Home early Saturday morning March 25, 2017. Jean Shipley (nee Atkinson) of Wiarton in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernie Shipley. Cherished mother of Betty Lou Brough and her husband Glen of Wiarton, JoAnne Gallaway and her husband Gary of Kitchener, Cathy Russell and her husband James of St. Thomas, Shelley Shipley and her friend Tim of Union and Joe Shipley and his wife Sandra of Georgian Bluffs. Loved grandmother of Randy (Michelle) Brough, Brad (Diana) Brough, Chris (Kristy) Brough, Rob England, Carrie (Brad) Brescia, Claire (Brad) Jack, Jenna (Nick) Prickett, Craig (Elise) Bannerman, Katy (Andrew) Bannerman, Taryn Shipley and Rachelle (Trevor) Smith and great grandmother of 17. Dear sister of Carol Cairns of Wiarton. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Caroline (Featherston) and Thomas Atkinson, brother Burton (Betty), sisters Joyce Allen (Les) and Reta Davidson (Dan) and brother-in-law Orval Cairns. The funeral service will be conducted from the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Rev. Ed Laksmanis officiating.
