Obituary of Mary Alice Parker

PARKER, Mary Alice, wife of the late Bertram A. Parker, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in the gentle care of Gateway Haven.  Mary was born in Edmonton, Alberta, daughter of the late John Crawford and Mary Catherine O'Donnell, in 1915.  Mary attended school in Thunder Bay and graduated from Winnipeg Misericordia School of Nursing in 1940.  She married Bert in 1946 and is survived by two sons:  John, with daughter-in-law Linda of Thunder Bay and her granddaughter Erin with her husband Brian in Coquitlam, B.C.; and James in Owen Sound; and nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her one sister, Catherine and brother-in-law Lorne Woodgate.  Mary spent her married life in Geraldton, Ontario enjoying her home, family and community.  She was a member of the Anglican Church in Geraldton and in recent years a member with St. Thomas Anglican Church in Owen Sound.  Private family funeral arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton.  As our Mother wished, interment of her ashes will take place at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford, Ontario.  Expressions of remembrance to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com
