I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Walter (“Wally”). I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to the Blundon family. I have many memories of the times when Wally would bring me fillets of fish and stay for a visit in the carport along with Diana.

Remembering a lovely man that I only met in person once, but have sent and received many messages each day from him. I like so many will miss him. He will be singing away now to his dear wife. My Poppa ♥️ I’m going to miss you everyday for the rest of my life and then some. I’m glad you’re at peace now and have finally been reunited with Gran, I know you missed her more than anything these last 5 years you were apart but I’m also so devastated that we had to say goodbye, I wasn’t ready. I’ll miss every hug, every laugh, every “Love ya” at the end of our visits, and your beautiful singing voice randomly serenading us when we least expected it. Thank you for being my Poppa, you gave me the best childhood filled with so much love, all of my favourite memories are because of you “order in the cork”, I’m also so grateful that you got the chance to make memories with Malia before you had to go. I’m going to miss your emails checking in, all those beautiful pictures and your selfies letting us know that you’re still as handsome as ever, I’m so glad I saved every single one of them to look back on in the moments when I miss you the most. Give gran a big hug and a kiss for me when you see her, after you catch up on all the ones you’ve missed of course. Love love love love love you and miss you even more forever and ever ♥️

Gone Fishing
Wally shared his words of wisdom and love with so many friends and family over the years and so many of us near and far will feel the loss deeply as he goes to join his bride of 60 years. I cannot match his skill with words and can but offer this meager attempt.
I arrived from the Old Country when his eldest was but a tot
Encouraged and sponsored by Diana's father such a lot
As the family grew over the years from one to six, who knew
My respect and, yes love, for this man and his wife so grew
This family became such a regular sight in the park by The Wiarton Shore
With father to all each day out trolling on the bay, those fish to catch more
Catch to be shared with neighbors and friends despite his own brood
Spread far and wide with good cheer and kind words to lift mood
Later to spread comfort and calm words from the cliffs high above
That 'family cottage' became such a quiet retreat of caring and love
That I, a mere cousin, became such a friend and confidant of this man
And his brother in in all but birth was the greatest gift received, his plan
