I am sorry to hear of Beatrice’s passing. She was named after my grandmother, Beatrice Weir Given, who died young leaving 6 small children. I was given the name too. Any time I saw Beatrice, usually at a funeral, we would seek each other out. I phoned her a few years ago to get her address because another relative, Marg Thomas, had found a package of post cards addressed to Bea Weir, sent from Montreal, I think, back in the day. We had a really nice phone chat and I mailed her the little post card package. I have often thought I would call her again some day, but now it’s too late. Beatrice was my dad’s first cousin, he was the son of Bill and Beatrice Given.
I’m so sorry for your loss. I feel it too, although we weren’t close, we shared a bond and a connection. My mom was also a friend of Beatrice’s when they were young. She was Kathleen Robinson from Pike Bay.
It was nice to read the obituary about her full and interesting life.
