Obituary of Jim Llewellen
March 8, 1942 – July 18, 2025
Peacefully with family by his side at Lion’s Head Hospital early Friday, July 18, 2025. James Llewellen of Lion’s Head in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Lynda Llewellen (nee Hey) for 62 years. Cherished father to Jim Llewellen Jr (Nancy Alleyne) of Lion's Head, ON, and Christine Llewellen (Carl Thompson) of Petawawa, ON. Proud grandpa to Grant McLean of Pembroke, ON, Scott McLean of Port Elgin, ON, Amanda Harris (Tony) of Duncan, BC, Carly Thompson (Ryan Kelly) of Whitby, ON, Nate Thompson of Toronto, ON, Christopher Herron of Cold Lake, AB, and Julia Springett (Stephen) of Saskatoon, SK. Great grampa to Emma Harris and Maeve Kelly. Brother-in-law and fellow firefighter to Bill Hey of Barrow Bay, ON. Predeceased by his parents Jim Llewellen Sr and Jesse Llewellen (nee Jackson) of Woodstock, ON.
Jim was born in Woodstock, ON. He was a respected and dedicated firefighter for 33 years with the Woodstock Fire Dept, from 1963, until he retired as a captain in 1996. Jim has responded to his final alarm and is now clear of duty. Jim and Lynda retired to their cottage in Lion's Head, ON, in 1997. Jim's love of fishing, hockey, baseball and trips to Florida kept him busy in his retirement.
