Obituary of Linda Farrelly
We are saddened to announce the passing of Linda Mary Farrelly, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 with her family by her side after a battle with liver cancer.
Born on January 18, 1948 in Kirkland Lake Ontario, Linda was the beloved wife and best friend of Ted Farrelly for 57 years. She was the devoted mother to Kerry (Rich Beamish) and Junior (Erin) Farrelly and proud Baba to Brooke Beamish. Cherished sister to the late Carolyn (late Jack) Gilbert of Guelph and the late Dennis Hiscox of Hamilton. Predeceased by her parents Robert and Catherine Hiscox.
Linda worked at Imperial Tobacco in Guelph for 40 years and developed many lifelong friendships. Her loyalty and sense of humour left a lasting impact on those she worked with.
She loved spending time with family and friends at Sauble Falls campground, Carolyn and Jack’s cottage on Colpoy’s Bay in Wiarton and later at their own cottage turned retirement property on Spry Lake. She loved family vacations to Oswego Speedway, girl’s weekends up north, shopping trips to the states and family gatherings (especially at Christmas).
She was proud of her children and would boast of their accomplishments often. Linda loved her dogs, never missed an episode of the Young & the Restless (Ted included), NASCAR races on tv and following Junior’s races including the Oswego Classic which she watched from her hospital bed shortly before her passing.
You always knew where you stood with Linda as she wasn’t afraid to say what was on her mind. She had a very kind heart and always put others first. This was evident in her final days as hospital staff who cared for her through her journey came by to pay their respects and compliment her demeanor and appreciation of their efforts.
Linda can now rest easy and join her family and friends in a better place. She will always be remembered and never forgotten.
