Obituary of Gerry Martell

MARTELL, Gerry - It is with broken hearts that the family announces his unexpected passing while on vacation celebrating his milestone birthday in the Bahamas on Saturday January 17, 2026. Gerry Martell of Oliphant at the age of 70 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Ann Martell. Cherished father of Christopher  (Rosie), Brodie (Laura) and Montana.  Dear brother of Ronald (Phyllis), Barry (Yvonne), Eric (Wanda), Paul (Lucille pre), Kathy (Donna) and Cindy (Jerry).  He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Gerry is also survived by his very special "adopted" family Bradley and Stavincia and their children Raine and Riley (all of whom will miss "Papa" terribly.)  He will be deeply missed by his very best fur friend PK along with the rest of his fur family Oliver, Bradley, Kali and Ellie.  Predeceased by parents Ron and Ann Martell.

Family and friends are invited to a time to remember and honour Gerry's life at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, 1900 3rd Avenue East, Owen Sound on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with memories shared at 2:00 p.m.  (Yes.  In true Gerry fashion it really is Super Bowl Sunday.  One of his favourite days of the year.)  Everyone is encouraged to please dress casually and wear a sports jersey of your choice.
