Obituary of Marjorie Spearin

SPEARIN, Marjorieof Lion's Head and formerly of St. Marys, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 in her 96th year. Beloved wife for 71 years of the late Douglas Spearin (2009). Cherished mother of Bev and her husband Mel Matheson of Wiarton. Special grandmother of Tim Matheson of Lion's Head, Jennifer (Wayne) Moodie of Ingersoll and Kristine Matheson, great grandmother of Adam, Scott and Ryan Matheson and Rachel, Shannon and Shelby Moodie and Aunt of Marjorie Weeden. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Winnifred (Corbett) and Cecil Stewart, sister Hazel (Ralph) Kent and nephew Stewart Kent. Marjorie will be remembered for her love of family, her quick wit and her nursing capabilities for family, friends and stray animals in need. She graduated in 1935 from Stratford General Hospital and did private nursing in and around St. Marys until her marriage to Doug in 1937.Family and friends are invited to share their memories at the Andrew Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington Street South, St. Marys on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral service to celebrate Marjorie's life at 2:00 p.m. Interment St. Marys Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. Donations made to the Golden Dawn Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
