Obituary of Faye Butchart
Faye Orma Butchartat Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound Monday November 3, 2014. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many Mrs. Faye Butchart at age 83. Nanny Faye, as we called her, was born on November 5, 1930 in Lion's Head, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband William Butchart and beautiful daughter Marylyn Robertson. Survived by her sons Scott and Geoff, daughters-in-law Carolyn Lawlor and Heather Butchart, son-in-law Cliff Robertson, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and her sister Carol Coupland. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1952 with a degree in Human Nutrition and worked for a verity of worthy causes while carefully shepherding her family through a number of moves to Canadian Forces bases throughout Canada. Faye returned to her heart's home of the Bruce Peninsula in 1980 where she built her dream home. Nanny Faye loved all the wonders of nature, with the beauty of a flower garden as one of her greatest passions, along with a hardy advocacy for the environment. Over the years, a number of abandoned kittens and cats instinctively found their way into her gentle heart to find a warm loving home for life. Her generosity and compassion will never be forgotten and she will always be remembered as the remarkable person she was. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION'S HEAD CHAPEL, Lion's Head. A celebration of Faye's life will be held for her many family and friends on the sun deck of her home of 34 years, and little piece of paradise, in rural Lion's Head, the summer of 2015. As Faye once said 'let's never leave the breakfast table.' Expressions of remembrance to the Owen Sound Animal Shelter would be appreciated. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through the link below. A tree will be planted in the Memorial Forest of the Grey Sauble Conservation Foundation in memory of Faye by the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME.
