Obituary of Maebelle Daykin

DAYKIN, Mary Isabelle 'Maebelle'of Wiarton passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 in her 97th year. Cherished mother of Ron (Anne) Daykin of Alymer and Mary Winn Daykin (Frank Coletta) of Wiarton. Special grandmother of Robert, David, Danica, Mason and Mallory and great grandmother of Jasmine Scott, Shelby Daykin and Charlie Ann Daykin. Maebelle will be sadly missed by her brother Martin (Mae) Leonard of Welland, sister Maisie Ott of Detroit and daughter-in-law Mary Daykin of St. Catharines. She was predeceased by her husband Fred, son Charles, honourary 'son' Wilson Ashkewe, parents Margaret (McNair) and William Leonard, brothers Peter, Vernor, John and Norman and sister Leona Hopkins.Maebelle will be forever loved and remembered by the many lives she touched over the years. She was a Honourary Deacon and Lifetime Member of the Frank Street Baptist Church.Family and friends are invited to share memories at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Friday, February 12, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Maebelle's life will be held at Frank Street Baptist Church on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Bret Maukonen officiating. Spring interment of cremated remains Dunk's Bay Cemetery, Tobermory. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Multiple Scleroisis Society of Ontario, Canadian Diabetes Association or Frank Street Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
