Obituary of Fred Zimmer

ZIMMER, Ferdinand 'Fred'of Wiarton, and formerly of Port Elgin, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Keitha (Moore) and dear father of Barbara and her husband John Power of Kincardine and step-father of Sandra (David) Farrow of Brampton, Mark (Linda) Ebel of Wiarton and Jeffrey Ebel of Oliphant. Special grandfather of Angie, Christie, Tamara, Carley and Lindsay and great grandfather of Stephen, Hannah and Abigail. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Pauline (Joe) Prendergast of Aylmer, Liz (Ira) Osborne of Port Elgin and Sister Josepha Zimmer of London and brothers Tony (Mary) of Mossley, Ed (Hilda) of Aylmer and Matt (Marlene) of Aylmer as well as his many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his daughter Bonnie O'Neill and parents Evelyn (Baehr) and Peter Zimmer, brothers Henry 'Hank' and Joseph and sisters-in-law Carol and Margaret.Visitation will be held at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Monday, December 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with vigil prayers at 6:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Wiarton on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment Bayview Cemetery. Donations made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
