Obituary of Dennis Askie
ASKIE, Dennis Sidneypassed away at his Cape Chin home on Sunday, October 18, 2009 in his 88th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Beatrice. Cherished father of Paul of Kingston and Pam of Port Sydney, grandfather of Matthew, Mandy and Ian and great grandfather of Haydn. Dennis was predeceased by his sister Faith Hardwick. Born in Edmonton, England he met Beatrice, his wife of 58 years, while they both served in the RAF during the war. Inseparable, they immigrated to Canada in 1951, raised their family and worked hard. First living near Dorchester, Ontario and then in retirement at Cape Chin on Georgian Bay. He loved his woodworking, painting, crafts, travel, his church community and his many other interests.At Dennis's request, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to honour and celebrate Dennis's life will be held at Christ Church Anglican, Main Street, Lion's Head on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton.
