Obituary of Harry Meekins

MEEKINS, Harryof Owen Sound and formerly of Wiarton passed away peacefully at Central Place Retirement Home on Friday, August 14, 2009 in his 96th year. Beloved father of Debra Bee (Rick Hudson) of Renfrew and cherished grandfather of Samantha Bee (Jason Jones) of New York City, New York and great grandfather of Piper and Fletcher. Harry will be sadly missed by his nieces Judi Langille and Pat Grant as well as his many friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Edith Meekins. Harry was a long serving member of Rotary and was an avid supporter of the Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart & Stroke Foundation.Visitation will be held at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral mass to celebrate Harry's life will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Wiarton on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow.
