Obituary of Irene McLaughlin

McLAUGHLIN, Irene C. -Peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Peter D. Cark Centre, Mrs. Irene C. McLaughlin of Ottawa in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Mr. Glenn McLaughlin. Cherished mother of the late John Barry (Bud) McLaughlin. She will be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Beryl McLaughlin. Loving grandmother of Neil, Sherry (Denis Vaillancourt), Rhonda (Dexter Draper) and the late Glenn Curtis. Loving great grandmother of Brandon and Kaitlyn, Noelle and Michael, and Jennifer.Irene was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Wiarton, Ontario with her family in 1950. She was an accommplished violinist. Irene was the first Lady Mayor of Wiarton. She will be remembered by those whose lives she touched by the meaningful poetry she wrote during her long and accommplished life. A special thank you to the staff of the Peter D. Clark Centre for all their kind and compassionate care.Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service to celebrate Irene's life at 3:00 p.m. Rev.
