Obituary of Elizabeth Mary Smith

SMITH, Mary Elizabeth 'Bette'of Lion's Head, and formerly of Toronto, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, March 23, 2008 in her 89th year. Cherished Aunt of Susanne Smith (Stuart Burgess) of Lion's Head, Deborah Smith (Kees Goetstouwers) of Toronto and April Smith of Wiarton. She will be sadly missed by great nieces and nephews Laura, Blair, Rob, Patrick and Mattie and sister-in-law Sylvia Smith. Bette was predeceased by her parents Jane (Blair) and Samuel Smith, her brother Samuel Smith, sister-in-law Margaret Smith and niece Bonnie McCallum.Aunt Bette was always vivacious and glamourous; gracious and supportive; generous and empathetic. We will miss the redhead in the green Mustang with the great sense of humour. She travelled to the pyramids, loved animals and always tried to get us to put on lipstick. Thank you to Dr. Harpur and a special thanks to the staff at Golden Dawn for their exceptional care, support and patience.In respect of Bette's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a family gathering to celebrate Bette's life at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. Donations made to the Volunteer Fund of Golden Dawn Nursing Home or the Humane Society would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
