Obituary of Murray Akiwenzie

AKIWENZIE, Murrayof Winnipeg, Manitoba, and formerly of Cape Croker, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 in his 61st year. Beloved friend of Muriel Waukey and cherished father of Billie-Jo Waykey, Murrie-Jo Waukey, Murray Jr. and Mickey all of Winnipeg. Special grandfather of six. He will be sadly missed by brother Chief Ralph Akiwenzie and sisters Jean and Rhonda all of Cape Croker, Helen of Owen Sound and Donna Lynne of Toronto, step-brother Orland Akiwenzie of Toronto as well as 7 nieces and nephews. Murray was predeceased by his parents Donna Lamorandiere (1998) and Ernest Akiwenzie (1979) and his brother Carmen (1975).Family and friends are invited to share their memories at the Cape Croker Community Centre on Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 3rd from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral mass to celebrate Murray's life will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Cape Croker on Monday, February 4th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Little Port Elgin Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. Donations made to the Chippewas of Nawash Recreation Department would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
