Obituary of Katie Balls

BALLS, Katieof Wiarton, and formerly of Adamsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Wiarton & District Hospital on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in her 89th year. Cherished mother of Carl (Sheila) Balls of Bass Lake and Helen (Jack) Schenk of Dunk's Bay. Special grandmother of Michael (Sara) Balls, Catherine (Stuart) Robertson, Melanie (Julian) Robertson, Andrea Schenk and Erin Schenk and Great-Grandmother of Liam and Gwyneth Robertson. She will be sadly missed by brother-in-law Bill (Hilda) Balls and sister-in-law Ada (Ralph) Beacock both of Wiarton as well as many nieces and nephews. Katie was a special friend and Aunt of Mary Butchart of Wiarton. She was predeceased by her husband Stewart, parents Mary (Shaw) and John Thompson, brothers Elmer and Joe and sisters Nettie, Elda, Dorothy.Friends and family are invited to gather at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Katie's life will be held at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Gould Street, Wiarton on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. David Leggatt officiating. Spring interment Colpoy's Bay Cemetery. Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.
