Obituary of Melville Knox

KNOX - Dr. Melville Knox DVM, DVS, DVPHof RR #3, Owen Sound passed away on Friday, April 6, 2007 at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Marjorie (McFadden) Knox who predeceased him in 2001. Lovingly remembered by his son Patrick and his wife Carol of Chesley, daughter Linda Knox of RR 3, Owen Sound and his son Tom and his wife Joan of Surrey, British Columbia. He will be sadly missed by grandchildren Michael, Thuja, Rozene, Kassia and Tavis, great grandchildren Cameron and Mary and his brother John Knox of Milverton. Dr. Knox was predeceased by his parents Susan (Henderson) and John Knox, two brothers and one sister.Dr. Knox was born in Millbank, Ontario on March 27, 1912. He graduated from Guelph Ontario Veterinary College in 1938 and moved to the Owen Sound area in 1942. He was a veterinarian in private large and small animal practice and as the Public Health veterinarian for the Grey Health Unit for over 30 years. Dr. Knox was also a Brother of the North Star Masonic Lodge, Owen Sound.Family and friends are invited to gather at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be a private family funeral service held to honour Dr. Knox's life. A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Harrison Park Community Centre. Spring interment Bayview Cemetery.
