Obituary of Jane McGee
McGEE, Janeof Wiarton passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2006 in her 64th year. Cherished sister of Ainsley McGee and his partner Vada Davidson and Aunt of Tammie and her husband Richard Newburn of Whitby, Matthew McGee and his partner Georgette Young of Brockville and Terrie and her husband Stuart Cirne of Kingston. She will be sadly missed by great- nephews and nieces Brendan Warren of Kingston, Caeleigh Warren of Whitby and Alyssa, Chris and Ben Cirne of Kingston, several cousins, her very dear friend Mrs. Grace (Mom) McCullough as well as many other close friends and her church family. Jane was predeceased by her parents Captain Ainsley Edward McGee and Theresa Melissa Given and sister-in-law Mary Louise McGee.Jane attended Wiarton Elementary and High School then continued her education at Stratford Teacher's College. She received her B.A. from Waterloo Lutheran University. Her teaching career was spent as Principal at Eastnor Township Central School and Teacher at Ancaster Senior Public School and Spencer Valley Public School in Wentworth County. For over thirty years, until her retirement in 1998, Jane resided in Hamilton. She spent weekends and holidays at the McGee home in Wiarton and at the cottage at Berford Lake, Mar. Jane enjoyed keeping in touch with all of her relatives. For many years she did extensive genealogical research, gathering information which has been compiled into manuscript form. She loved animals, especially dogs and horses. Jane was a lifelong member of Frank Street Baptist Church and OES Georgian Chapter, Wiarton.The family will receive friends at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Tuesday, October 17th, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Jane's life will be held at the Frank Street Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Gord Cox officiating. Interment Bayview Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Frank Street Baptist Church, Wiarton Hospital or Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
