Obituary of Donald Ashcroft

ASHCROFT, Donald Edwardof Lions Head passed away on Sunday, September 3rd, 2006 in his 66th year after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and best friend of Bonnie (Ottewell) Ashcroft and cherished father of Donald of Miller Lake, Pamela of Toronto and Greg (Jessica) of Melbourne, Australia. Don will be sadly missed by brothers Wilf (Eileen) Ashcroft, John (Margaret) Ashcroft both of RR #1, Mar, George Ashcroft (Judy Bruyne) of Kitchener, sisters Fay Ashcroft of Kitchener, Shirley (Red) Leeder of Wiarton, Freda (Bud) Greaves of New Liskeard, Mary Stephens of Collingwood and many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his parents Ruth (Lawrence) and Royden Ashcroft, brother Lad and sister-in-law Edythe Ashcroft.The family will receive friends at the DAVIDSON CHAPEL, 71 Main Street, Lions Head on Friday, September 8, 2006 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Don's life will be held at the Bethel Missionary Church, Lions Head on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. with Mr. A.J.V. Leeder officiating. Interment of ashes in Colpoy's Bay Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton.
