Obituary of Paul Martindale

MARTINDALE, Paulof Barrow Bay passed away peacefully, with family at his side, on Monday, February 20, 2006 after a rapid battle with cancer.Paul was the beloved husband and best friend of Judi (Ionson) and special father of only son Paul Robert and "daughter" (in-law) Kendra of Hamilton. He will be sadly missed by his sister Muriel Plaxton of Hanover as well as his mother and father-in-law Roy and Joan Ionson. Paul was a special uncle to his nephew and neices, especially Hugh Plaxton (Karen) of Hanover and Lisa Maione (Kevin) of Minnesota.Paul began a long and enjoyable career in the education field at the age of 18. Prior to his retirement he was able to return to his Bruce County roots as the Chief Executive Officer of the amalgamated school boards of Bruce and Grey public schools. He was also an active and valued member of Christ Church Anglican, Lions Head.Visitation will be held at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street, Lions Head on Thursday, February 23rd from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Paul's life will be held at Christ Church Anglican, Lions Head on Friday at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Jawn Kolohan officiating. Spring interment in Eastnor Cemetery, Lions Head. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Church Anglican in Lions Head as expressions of sympathy.
