Obituary of Mervyn Harold Pearce

Pearce Harold Mervyn Passed away in his 81st year, on Saturday, September 17, 2005, in Royal Victoria Health Center, in Barrie, of complications resulting from many health problems. Harold was predeceased by his mother Susan and father Clarence John, of East York. Loved brother of Leonard and Raymond, both also deceased. Greatly missed by his son Michael Jonathan of Baxter, Ontario, daughter-in-law Brenda, grandchildren Brendon and Galena, and niece Leni of Calgary. Past employee of Continental Can Company of Canada from 1951 to 1987. Harold was widely acquainted with many people in the East York, Scarborough, Pickering and Greater Toronto areas,where he made various homes, boated and worked. As well, he lived in retirement for the last 18 years on the Bruce Peninsula, where he was active in the Masonic Temple and local environmental groups. Visitation to be held at George Funeral Home 430 Mary Street, Wiarton, Ontario on Wednesday, September 21 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 22, 10:00 -11:00 a.m.Funeral service to follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Audrey Brown officiating. Cremation to follow with interment of cremated remains at Eastnor Cemetery, Lion's Head. Cedar Lodge #396 A.F. & A.M. will hold a masonic service at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:45 pm. Since the last years of Harold's life were passed in unremitting pain, the family is requesting donations to the Arthritis Society of Canada in his name.
