Obituary of Florence Jeanne Smith
Smith Jeanne Florence At the Golden Dawn Nursing Home Lion's Head on Thursday May 26, 2005. Jeanne (McKenzie) Smith of Stokes Bay in her 100th year. Wife of the Late Malcolm Smith and good friends Don Cameron and Norman Howson. Dear mother of Peggy Stover and her Late husband Fred of Stokes Bay, Bruce and his wife Vera of Hanover and Barry and his wife Linda of Stokes Bay. Jeanne will be sadly missed by ten grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. Predeceased by one great great grandchild. Jeanne was well known on the Bruce Peninsula, running the Stokes Bay Pavilion and restaurant for many years as well as teaching music in the public schools through out the Bruce. Then moving to Sarnia Jeanne opened a wool shop and ran that until retiring to Stokes Bay Ontario. Jeanne was a life member of the Legion Auxiliary Branch #202. The family will receive friends at the Davidson Chapel, 71 Main Street Lion's Head on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Sunday May 29th at 2:00pm with Pastor Peter Longmore officiating. Interment Zion Cemetery, Hepworth.
