Obituary of Dale Mary Hewton

 Mary Dale Hewton It is with a deep sense of sadness and loss that the family of Mary Dale Hewton announces her passing at Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre, Owen Sound on Friday, January 17, 2014 in her 77th year.  A lifelong resident of Stokes Bay, she was born March 24, 1937 to Garney and Bella Hawke.  Mary Dale was a strong supporter of her community and spent much time as a volunteer within it.  She loved a good game of cards, having people drop in to visit and was a terrific baker and cook.  Her pies and butter tarts were second to none.  But most of all, she was a much loved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Cherished and beloved mother of Julie (Dave) Henderson of Pike Bay, Kent Hewton of Owen Sound, Amber Brown (Dave Sohl) of Stokes Bay, Wendy McConnell of Durham, Troy (Lisa) Hewton of Point Edward, Mark (Cheryl) Hewton of Miller Lake and Mary (Jeff) Robbins of Stokes Bay.  Treasured grandmother of Matt, Shea, Stephanie and Nate Henderson, Selea, Keeley and Kira Hewton, Tyler, Kathleen and Jared McConnell, Brendan and Austin Hewton, Tyler, Brooklyn and Lexi Hewton and Kyle, Cole and Jesse Robbins.  Dear sister of Norma (Orville) Stewart of Stokes Bay and Betty Weatherhead of Lion's Head and sister-in-law of Dorothy Hawke of Stokes Bay, Fran (Al) Terry of Edengrove, Ruth Heath of New Brunswick and George (Gail) Hewton of Brampton.  She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her husband Duncan (2010), parents, sister Nean McArthur and brothers Joe and Cliff Hawke.   Private family funeral arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION'S HEAD CHAPEL, Lion's Head.  A time to remember and honour Mary Dale's life will be held at a later date.  Spring interment Stokes Bay Cemetery.  Expressions of remembrance to the Stokes Bay Community Centre, Knox Presbyterian Church, Stokes Bay or the Royal Victoria Hospital Cancer Centre, Barrie would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence are welcome through the link below.  A tree will be planted in the Memorial Forest of the Grey Sauble Conservation Foundation in memory of Mary Dale by the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME. I would like to Send Condolences Back to Notices Home | History | Services | Our Facilities | Notices | Contact Us | Links
