Obituary of Norma Jones

 Rev. Norma Alice Jonespeacefully with family by her side at Gateway Haven Nursing Home Monday evening December 30, 2013.  Norma Jones (nee Potts) of Wiarton in her 95th year.  Beloved wife of Fred Jones of Cape Croker and the late Sydney Secord.  Loving mother of Mary Barker of Jarvis, Alice (Peter) Barker of Hagersville, Katherine Poirier of Calgary, Alberta, Bonnie (Ken) May of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Norma Secord (Charlie Clark) of Wiarton and David Secord of Chilko Lake, B.C.  Dearly remembered by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Loved sister of Alan Potts of Troy, Albert Potts of Simcoe and Evelyn Lindsay of Orillia.  Norma will be sadly missed by her step children Glenn, Glenda, Linda, Vivienne, Manley, Grace, Paul, Joyce and Jenny.  Predeceased by her parents, brother Harold Potts, sister Marjorie Bessie, son Dan Secord, daughter Lynne Sullivan, granddaughter Nicky, step-son Frank and step-daughter Elaine.  Norma was a remarkable woman who raised her family with great courage.  She began a second career as an ordained Minister in the United Church and with her husband Fred travelled to remote areas across Canada to help First Nations congregations.   A service to honour Norma's life will be held at GATEWAY HAVEN NURSING HOME, Wiarton on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 1:30 p.m..  Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton.  Expressions of remembrance to Friends of Gateway would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence are welcome through the link below. I would like to Send Condolences Back to Notices Home | History | Services | Our Facilities | Notices | Contact Us | Links
