I will forever carry the memory of Aunt Dot in my heart as a gentle and kind person who we all loved deeply.
I will never forget the times I spent with your family on the many "mini vacations" in Wiarton during the summer or on school holidays and how welcome I was made to feel. Aunt Dot and Mrs. Taylor your former neighbour, taking a whole car load of us swimming on an unbearably hot day, Aunt Dot squeezing oranges for a fresh cup of orange juice for us and she made the absolutely best "Black Current Jam" that I still think about. I can still remember her comforting Susan and I after we had locked ourselves in the bathroom when we were, I think, about 3 years old and poor Uncle Jerry had to go out in the pouring rain, climb up on a porch roof to try to get in the window to unlock the door for us. I'm sure we gave her some sleepless nights in our teenage years too but I do not have one memory of her ever raising her voice to us. She is someone who cared about others and had a great love for her family. She was someone who made a difference in my life and who I am going to miss very much.
Rest in peace Aunt Dot, I will love you forever. xoxo
