My deepest condolences to Jerry, Jason and the entire Blair family. Jerry and Cheryl were my first bosses ever. I was just 12 years old, and SO young when I started at SBA. They taught me important lessons that I still hold dear to today. They taught me to work hard, even when no one is looking (they could see everything from that window that overlooked the mini golf), they taught me to be prepared - even if it didn't seem to be a busy night, we could get slammed at a moment's notice, and they taught me to treat customers well (many of them were friends and relatives of Jerry and Cheryl, and information WOULD get back to them). As an adult now, I can't believe the patience and leadership that both Cheryl and Jerry showed to so many youth, year after year. I don't know that I could do the same. Many SBA staff have become successful adults, and I hope that you both realize your important role in this. Although I feel that Cheryl was taken far to early, I also believe that she will now be able to sit back, pain free, and enjoy the fruits of her labour from a great vantage point. You BOTH have had a significant, POSITIVE impact on many hundreds of youth, which in turn, has had a huge "ripple effect" across Grey-Bruce and beyond. Cheryl, you were kind and supportive, yet you set the bar high. You could handle even the most belligerent tourist or know-it-all teenager with grace and a smile, without giving an inch. My favourite memory of you was taking the profits of a crazy-busy night, putting them in the bottom of a regular popcorn container, filling that same container with popcorn, and then walking through a crowd of tourists back to the office in your apartment like you were just a regular customer. Brilliant!
To the Blair family, I am so sorry for your loss. To the SBA family, I say wherever you are, whatever you do...kick it up a notch. Smile more, work harder, or take a wayward teenager under your wing, and do it in Cheryl's name. She certainly did it for us.

Although we had not seen her in many years I have many fond memories of her in Lions Head and when she would come visit us occasionally. As a matter of fact I used to refer to her as "Aunt Cheryl" and when my Mom was trying to decide what to name me it was Cheryl that suggested it. Such a pretty lady with a killer smile. I think I can speak for the Chalkley family when I say heaven has gained another angel. Our thoughts and prayers are with all that loved her at this most difficult time.

Dear Jerry,
It is so difficult in times like these to say anything that might be even remotely appropriate. Sandy and I are simply stunned and in shock of not only what happened but also the speed in which it happened. All we can say is that God must have needed another beautiful, lively and vibrant angel and she is now in a peaceful place where there is no pain.
We would be with you and the old gang were it not for surgery (nothing major) that I have to have done this week. But know that our hearts and prayers are with you during this time of grief.

Hello Jerry, & Family,
We cannot express how shocked &saddened we are ,hearing of Cheryls passing.
Cheryl , was one of the first LOCALS, I got to know , back in the early 60s.
I had a small raceboat at the harbour & Cheryl was always there swimming,
she would come over and chat, draped in her Beach towel, shivering from head to toe,
she was so cold, but she loved it.The other day , I waved to her out raking the lawn
she waved back, with her usual Radiant Smile, I will Cherish that for the rest of my life.
Nancy & I send our sincere condolences, to you and your family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
