Dear Ron, Terry and family,
I just today learned of the passing of my Aunt Florence. Your memories are such a loving tribute to a terrific woman. I have treasured memories of being with both Florence and Norm in Ipperwash as well as when they had a home in Okeechobee. She was just as you described her. I remember her wit and feistiness well, it brings a smile to my face as I write this. Please accept condolences from me for my mother Rheta as well, she would want you to know how much she treasured Florence's friendship over the years, unfortunately she is unable to express that to you directly.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family,
Marjorie

Short visits with Aunt Florence and Uncle Norm at the farm, Ipperwash, Stratford, and Punta Gorda are that was needed for precious memories. Aunt Florence's wry sense of humour was her most endearing trait. She instilled a sense of awe in me and staring at her beautiful face was a treat... I am grateful for the moments... Good bye Aunt Florence... Heaven just got more interesting..

The photo of Florence with the kitchen in the background at the top of her obituary speaks to much about her. The eggs, rolling pin and others items prepared for baking are reminder's one of the core values that Cheryl learned from her as a child. Hospitality at its best! No matter when we arrived, we were always welcomed. There was more than enough in the fridge and being baked. There was always room for one more at the table.
Our frequent phone calls were important. They allowed us to reminisce or chat about current events or future plans. None of our conversations were without humour and a lesson or two. John and Florence had a great relationship. They respected each other and shared wit and good meals, originally cooked by her and of later years cooked by him. The trip that Florence, Ron, Terry and Cheryl took to Ireland was a lifetime gift. Aunt Florence's spunk and curiosity at 95 years of age was incredible. Her delight in visiting her grandmother Hishon's (nee Quirck) was written all over her face. It made the trip extra special to witness her pleasure.
Aunt Florence lived an exemplary life. Our talks will be missed. She will never be forgotten.

So many memories with grandma. She has saved me from treacherous boat rides, invited me to many skeepovers, and travelled all the way to Europe to see me. I learned to cook and bake with her and will remember all the goodies she made for us. I can't thank her enough for everything she has done. I love you grandma.

Grandma was the source of great wisdom, humour, encouragement and kindness. She saw the best in everyone and was a great friend to many. Her advice will be missed, but her lessons are learned and will be remembered. Her inspiration for my girls Madissen and Gwen to be their best is a gift to be treasured, and for that we are thankful. Now by Grandpa's side she is where she belongs. In that there is peace.
