"Miss Baker" was an incredibly thoughtful woman. She was our neighbour growing up and whenever we would help her with chores around the house, she would give us homemade treats - and they were delicious! She was humble and kind and such a genuine person. Sending thoughts and prayers to her surviving family and friends and may her kind spirit inspire us all to be better people.

Dear family: we are deeply saddened to hear of Verniece's passing. We lived beside Verniece for many years and enjoyed her friendship. Our grown children to this day speak of her delicious peanut butter and marshmallow squares she used to make them. Verniece was a very kind and gentle soul. May she forever rest in peace.

Family of Vernice Baker. Vernice was a treasure and so very kind. I will always remember her, as she was my teacher most of my public school years at Zion Keppel school. She also came to Gateway Haven for years, while I worked there,and the residents looked so much for her to come each week for the sing and prayer times. She will be a special angel in Heaven for sure. Marion Williamson
