Obituary of Harry Alfred Riches

February 10, 2017 at Grey Bruce Hospital in Owen Sound, after a brief illness Harry passed peacefully in his sleep. He was in his 89th year. Harry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Vivian (nee McIntosh). Beloved father of Anne and Jim. Treasured grandfather of Lauren, Tricia, Kelly, Jesse & Rachel. He will be missed by his surviving brother Roy Riches of Beaverton and sisters-in-law Betty, Kathleen, and Margaret. He is predeceased by brothers Earl and Gerald; sister Mae Knapp; brother-in-law Don Knapp and daughter-in-law Barbara Riches. He will be remembered for his letters, love and good humour by 3 generations of nieces and nephews. Harry graduated U of T with a degree in pharmacy in 1953. He managed and then owned Sutherland Pharmacy in Hamilton. He is a past member of Toastmasters and past president of the Pharmacy Association of Hamilton. He retired to Tobermory where he thrived making many friends. Special thanks to neighbours Anthony and Jeannine Lombardo for their continuing support. Thanks also to his Medical Teams in Lion's Head, the CCU, the ICU and on the ward in Owen Sound. A memorial celebrating his life will be held at a later date. Private family arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, LION'S HEAD CHAPEL, Lion's Head.
