I was saddened to hear recently of Florrie's passing, but so so happy to have had a visit with her last summer! Florrie meant the world to me growing up. She welcomed me and my family with open arms, sharing her love of horses and down-to-earth friendliness with this girl from the suburbs. I have countless warm memories of my many summers spent at Eli's Harem - riding horses, going to horse shows with Florrie, hanging out in the hay loft with other lucky kids, and 'helping' during haying season. I'm realizing now that those delicious post-haying meals that included so much fresh garden produce instilled in me a love of growing as much of my own food as possible in my small yard now that I'm an adult. I will always remember Florrie as a loving, generous, and strong soul.

I have very fond memories of Florrie from my summers spent at Barrow Bay both as a child and growing up as a teenager. Florrie taught many of us a love for horses and we spent many hours in her kitchen and restaurant at the Limestone Inn. My deepest condolences to Beth, Ken and her family. She will be missed. She was a great lady. RIP Florrie.

Hello,
I am very sad to read the passing of Florrie.
She was a true mentor of my mine back in the day when I lived close to Lion's Head. She taught me how to
ride and take care of horses starting at the age of 10 years old.
I went to many horse shows with her and watched her win many ribbons.
Florrie was one of those strong, brave and independent women young girls can really look up to and
learn from.
My condolences go out to her family and friends.

Darlene and I are so sad to hear of Florrie passing. She was an icon in Barrow Bay who loved the community and who knew more about it than anyone else. We all grew up with Florrie, Ivan and the Limestone Inn. The horses, the chats, the smiles and laughs are all part of our memories. Florrie will be greatly missed by us all. She was part of all our lives.
