I'll always remember our first encounter with Reg. As we arrived at our newly acquired property on Warner Bay (just a few doors down from Reg's place), before we even entered our laneway we heard this beep and there appeared on his scooter an eccentric character (coming out of our drive by the way) to welcome us. He had obviously done his homework, as he knew all about us - what I did for a living - where Tracy lived. He was a curious man who had the pulse of the whole Peninsula! We have fond memories of the Thanksgiving dinner he invited us to at the Brewpub in town - a disparate collection of friends who compromised Reg's "Family". We are going to sorely miss having such a great neighbour!

I had the privilege of knowing Reg for 3 years, a very short time . However, over these years I came to appreciate Reg for his crotchety personality ( like me ), generosity and great love for God's four legged creatures, as evidenced by how well Buddy and Brutus had him trained. What a guy! Reg, may your soul rest in peace and may your family take comfort in the memories you have given them.

From the Downes family we send our condolences. In the late 1940's to 1960 we lived at 733 Woolwich St in Guelph and so came to know your great grand mother, grand parents and Reggie, as we called him. My brother Pat knew Reggie best and continued their boyhood friendship to present day. We are sorry for your loss and know that Reggie will be missed.
Sincerely, The Downes family

To Reg’s family, so sorry to hear of your loss. My visits to Tobermory always included time to see Reg and a meal at the TBC or Crowsnest. We shared stories of flying, kids and grandkids. I often heard from him on American holidays and we would make plans to meet when I next came to Canada. He was a joy to spend time with. I’ll miss his company.
