Obituary of Jim Barfoot

BARFOOT, James Anson of Wiarton, peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Grey Bruce Health Services, Wiarton on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the age of 81 years.  Loving husband and best friend of Joanne (nee McKenzie) for over 60 years.  Devoted father to Carl Barfoot and his wife Beverly of Wiarton and Brenda Barfoot of Wiarton.  Cherished grandfather of Tajalli Barfoot and Justin Ainslie of Sauble Beach.  Brother-in-law of Leone Ritchie and the late Gerald Ritchie of Hanover.  Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents Victor and Irene Barfoot of Shallow Lake.  Jim and Joanne were long time owners of Barfoot Welding and Machine Shop in Wiarton.  As well, Jim served on Council and the Heritage Committee for the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.  At Jim's request, there will be no formal funeral service.  Friends are invited to share memories and reminisce at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Saturday, October 19th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  A heartfelt thank you to Dr. John Van Dorp and the staff at Gateway Haven for their excellent care of Jim while he was a resident there and to the nurses and staff at the Wiarton Hospital.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of remembrance to the Bruce Peninsula Health Services Foundation or the Friends of Gateway would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com
