Obituary of Michael Brian Robins
It's with deep sorrow to announce the peaceful passing of Michael 'Mike' Brian Robins of Miller Lake in his 71st year on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Grey Bruce Health Services in Wiarton, surrounded by his family, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband and best friend of 49 years to Margaret 'Peggy' Robins (nee McArthur), as well as the proud and devoted father of Darryl and his wife, Laura Swanson, of Miller Lake and Nicole and her husband, Scott Hennebury, of Caledon, and doting grandfather to Shane. He was the cherished son of Elaine Robins (nee Noble) of Wiarton, loyal brother of Cathy (Kirk Gibbons), Laurie 'Smokey' Golden (Lance) and Brent (Julie), all of Tobermory and adoring brother-in-law to Linda Watson (Clark) of Oliphant, Robert 'Bob' McArthur of Pike Bay, Charlene Shaw (Allan) of Oliphant, Bryce McArthur (Shelley), Tony McArthur (Terri Reid) and Michelle McArthur, all of Tobermory. Predeceased by his dear father Ivan Robins, his mother-in-law Margaret (nee Ritchie) and father-in-law Robert 'Jiggs' McArthur, as well as friend and brother-in-law, Murray McArthur. Sadly missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nephew.
Mike owned and operated his construction business for 50 years in Miller Lake and will be forever remembered for his outstanding professionalism, exceptional work ethic, and uncompromising integrity. He dedicated himself to his community through his long service as a councillor and deputy-reeve on Lindsay Township council.
Mike will always be admired for his honourable, generous, and dependable nature, which he consistently and quietly demonstrated through his selfless acts and a willingness to always lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Family and friends are invited to share memories at the Tobermory Community Centre on Tuesday, October 20th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. All those wishing to attend must register in advance by completing the RSVP under visitation information below. All attending are required to wear a mask and social distancing must be respected.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral service will be conducted by the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME Lion's Head Chapel, Lion's Head.
