Obituary of Laurina Mallard

MALLARD, Laurina peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Wiarton Friday evening October 23, 2020.  Laurina Mallard of Oxenden in her 97th year.  Beloved wife of the late Clarence Mallard (1976).  Cherished mother of George and his wife Ursula, Brenda Porter, Lorne and his wife Netta and Bruce and his wife Chris, all of Georgian Bluffs, Marlene Rayment and her husband Don of Kingston and Joyce Thompson of Tobermory.  Much loved grandmother of 14 and great grandmother of 24 who fondly called her Grandma Jubie.  She will be deeply missed by her faithful feline companion Tommy.  Laurina was well known for her painting, quilting, gardening and baking as well as her beautiful blue eyes.  Nothing pleased her more than having family and friends at the farm for weekends and holiday gatherings.  Laurina was determined to spend her life in the comfort of her own home with the loving help from her family and she accomplished that.  She looked forward to her visits from the volunteers from Meals on Wheels and the caregivers from the VON.  The family would like to thank the first responders, the Owen Sound Hospital as well as the Wiarton Hospital for their excellent care.  Predeceased by parents Catherine (nee Kraft) and Albert Lembke, brothers Fred, Theodore, Oscar and Earl, sister Elda Pfeffer and sons-in-law Carl Porter and Jim Thompson.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private funeral service will be conducted at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton.  Interment Oxenden Cemetery.  Expressions of remembrance to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com
