Hi Dave, How sad to hear of Gertie's passing, way too young. The two of you were loyal and close to each other throughout your lifetime. We have told Joanne and Norman and others in University Gardens. Be assured you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We still miss you on the route. The younger carriers today are not as friendly as you.
Love and blessings, Ken and Mary-Jane

Dear Dave. I read with sadness this morning of the passing of Gerty. Of course, it has been years since we have seen each other and life has moved along. Somehow, I had heard that you had moved north. I have fond memories of Gerty coming in to work to see you and she was always cheerful and easy with her laughter! It was always obvious that you cared very much for each other! I pray that you’ll be okay, going forward. Cling to your friends and the community. Be safe, Dave! I’ll remember you both!

Dave, we are sorry for your loss. Gerty was a part of the Lion's head Library. We enjoyed her coloring, chats, knitting and the energy she brought into the branch. She always brought in a smile and that will be greatly missed. You are in our thoughts, Kathryn and staff at the Lion's Head Library Branch

Dave: We were so sorry to hear of Gerty's passing. She was loved & appreciated by all who knew her. When you moved to Lion's Head we, at Freelton Baptist, didn't know how we were going to fill all the holes that were left by you both!
We know she loved her Lord & is enjoying the happiness of Heaven & a healthy, active body. Know that we are thinking & praying for you at ths time.
Remember our trip to Pigeon Forge? Fun days!
Love from Joe & Barb Winer.

So very sorry for your loss, Dave. You and Gerty are such an important part of our library family. I always looked forward to your visits and am grateful for the many laughs and good times over the years. It wasn’t a good work shift without the two of you coming in. Gerty will also be missed by the knitters; she was funny, kind, and sweet. Thinking of you, and wishing you strength. Ulla

Gerty Purdy was a cousin of mine and we knew each other since we were kids. The Purdy Family always had a family picnic each year and everyone came. Gerty was an awesome person who always helped everyone in the community. She gave of herself in both communoties where she and Dave lived. I will miss her smile and humour. Her husband Dave and Gerty were always together plus the love they had for each other cannot be missed. Love to you Dave and our prayers for you and family. Love both of you to the moon and back
