Deepest condolences Leonard and Jim in the passing of your Mom Colleen. It is difficult to lose a loved one but there is great comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and is at peace. I have many memories of you and your family when we lived on Gould Street and often chuckle about some of the goings on that took place. You won't remember Leonard, but we have a picture of you and I playing house and I was kissing you goodbye when you went to work. You were the first boy I kissed !!!! Memories . . . something that can never be taken away and always enjoyed. Cherish your memories of your Mom and know that she is once again with loved ones.

Leonard, Jim and Darren, we are truly sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Aunt Colleen was a happy, beautiful person and always had time for our visits. It was our privilege to have had her in our lives and even more so as our aunt. Aunt Colleen was much loved by all. Our love and prayers are with you and your family. Steve and Donna Border

Thank you Steve, mom had always looked forward to your visits and she often talked about babysitting you as a young child. While she liked everyone, I think you were her favourite, and understandably so. She’s with Gwen now and she commented on Sunday that she was excited to reunite with her and Walter again.

I knew your Mom Colleen and Walter when i worked in Wiarton many yrs ago . Iwas around 19 and your Mom would be around 22 . I spent many afternoons and evenings with both them when they lived in the house up on the hill .I was also great friends of your Aunt Diane and Uncle Lonnie . I was friends with them when Walter first started manning the lighthouse. We moved to Alberta 38 yrs ago and when we came back we were always in a rush visiting mainly family . We still have family in the Wiarton area "CROW'S" and Lion's Head area "SMITH" My niece is married to Diane's cousin Jim Martindale . We had really great times hanging out and i will always regret that i never found the time to visit Colleen .I remember colleen as a very kind caring person and Walter who was always looking for some kind of mischief .Colleen was a great cook and always fed me .I will always remember her with the kindest of memories may she rest in peace .I hope you are left with lovely memories just like i have .Walter and Betty "Smith' Crow wbcrow@xplornet.com

As mom’ existence her on earth slowly slips away it’s her memories is what we have left to hold onto and comfort us from time to time. I couldn’t have asked for a better. I’m growing up. She was loved by all. I’ve heard in these past few days how my friends loved coming by our house just to hang out with my mom, our family enjoyed her cooking so much to how she left a smile amongst so many people in her apartment building Marian Towers. But in the end mom was ready to go, she had witnessed passings of all her siblings her loving husbands Walter and later Bob she didn’t want a life of sickness and pain. Even towards the end she always put the needs of others ahead of her own and tried to do so much when she shouldn’t have by herself. But I take comfort knowing she was excited to go and finally meet the love of her life Walter again and her sister Gwen who she had missed throughout the years. We will miss you mom, thanks for the memories and love you gave to so many people. We often take it for granted someone’s existence here on earth and think there will always be tomorrow. If I learned one thing this week is don’t wait for tomorrow.
