Very sad to learn of Shirley's passing; knew and loved the family in the 50's and 60's; Shirley stood out as a beautiful person. I was the "getaway" driver for her wedding! Fond memories of Wiarton and Colpoy Bay and Burlington Ave in Mimico. Best wishes to the family. Bruce Martin, Victoria, BC

This is a photo of Shirley in her element, piecing tiny pieces of fabric together to create glorious, colourful quilts. Shirley was a respected and loved member of our local quilting community. She was an absolutely amazing quilter and a contributing member of our quilting community.She took over leading our Friday Quilting group as a Sauble Sandpiper for several years as well as contributing to the Bluewater Quilting Guild with setting up mystery challenges, donating many quilts for charity, contributing to shows and always having something to show for show and share. She also participated in the Meaford Quilt show and the Quilt Show in Lion’s Head.
I travelled to Paducha Kentucky with her and also to Casino Rama. Even as her mobility lessened she did what she could and never complained. She was always supportive of my environmental efforts and my hikes for hospice.
She was a kind, fun and intelligent friend who will be missed.

My condolences to Shirley's Family. I met her a few years ago through the Bluewater Quilters' Guild. She was a generous contributer to our Community Quilts Program and always amazed us with the stunning quilts she donated. She was quick to share her quilting skills with others. Her kindness, her sense of humour will be missed by all of us.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Shirley's demise! I'm fairly new up here but did get to know a bit of Shirley through WI activities. I found her energy and enthusiasm towards WI endeavours to be remarkable and inspiring. I do hope that you memories will be of some comfort to you during this most difficult time.
