May,
I just heard of Murray’s passing. Please accept my late condolences. I just heard he had ALS and was in the home in Wiarton so I contacted the home today and they advised me about Murray.
I worked with Murray on Plain Clothes in Winnipeg in the late 1960’s. I was on the C.& E. Section.
I have ALS in the advanced stages and just wanted to say hi to Murray and pass on info about the ALS Society and a possible Veterans Affairs Canada pension from his time in the RCMP. The military personal who develop ALS receive a VAC pension. My neurologist ALS Specialist in Hamilton told me that information so I applied because of my service in the RCMP and I was granted a Disability Pension.
Wishing you all the best.

May, Blaine and all the Robbins family.
Condolences to all.
May and Murray have been loved friends for over 50 years.
We have been blessed to have enjoyed so many memories over the years.
Murray and I met when 9 or 10 of us single mounties all lived in 2 suites of the same apartment block in Winnipeg.
We all enjoyed each others careers, marriage, families and travels over the years.
Murray was so happy he met and married May and to have shared his life after the mounties, with the
establishment of the Lumber/hardware business in Miller Lake to his hardware business in Wiarton
and the growth of his family.
Bev and I have great memories of many visits to Miller Lake and Wiarton over the years and our travel with them
on a Baltic Cruise.
I have attached a picture of Murray, his brother in law Jerry Anderson, the pub owner and I
in London, England the starting point of the cruise.
We had all gone there for supper with our wives and after a few(?) pints, some singing and jigging
we became very much beloved "Canadian blokes"
Proof is in the picture where the pub owner invited us all up to the bar to"Help"
It is one of my best memories of Murray..
We were happy to have visited May and Murray in early April this year in essence to say goodbye and relive many happy memories.
RIP good friend

Our sincere condolences to May and her family.
Murray was quite a gentleman, although.....
His brother Lynn and I went out to Lundar Manitoba when we were only 17 to work on farms that Murray had lined up for us. Unfortunately, the first night we didn't have accommodations so good ole Murray put us up in the detachment jail cells ! Come morning, I got up with a broken back, itching from an old wool blanket and a laughing Mountie!!!
But....he looked after us.A real fun summer. Thanks my friend.

We had many laughs with Murray and May in our younger days while starting out in the business world.
In the late 80s - early 90s, Eric and Murray represented the northern peninsula on the Generations of Care Committee for the new Wiarton Hospital. Together they travelled to many early morning meetings in Wiarton and beyond under Chairman Tom Norris.
Murray truly was an intelligent, soft-spoken gentleman. He will be missed.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to May, Blaine and the extended Robins family.

Sincere condolences to Murray's Family and Friends. Coincidentally, I was thinking about Murray when I was on a recent trip on the Peninsula. I met him as a customer, providing office equipment and service for his building supply store(s). Fond memories only, and it was a pleasure and honour to have known him. John Dickson

I first met Murray when he was the District Deputy Grand Master for Bruce District in 1987. Over the years I had many opportunities to talk to Murray at various events and always found him to be a warm and engaging person. I always made a point of reciting his car licence plate - 2X4S - when we would meet. It always broke the ice and opened the conversation.
Rest in peace Brother. Lay down your tools. Rest in peace.

Please accept our sincere condolences at this time of grief in your family. Murray hired me as a young high school grad. He was the “steady compass” at Peninsula Homecare” – patient, supportive, a true gentleman and a truly wonderful boss. I thank you for teaching me so much over the 21 years I worked for the company. To May, Blaine, and the rest of the Robins family, I hope you will find comfort in the days ahead. RIP Murray!
