Paul was for many years not just a first cousin of mine, but also my closest neighbour to the south just down Highway 6. Mom and Dad were pleased when he agreed to buy what had been their "homestead" farm in 1985 after they built and retired to what is now my summer home that I acquired after they passed away. We lost someone much too soon at age 62 who, like his parents and siblings, was a kind and generous person who was always willing to help someone when they needed help.
When I first rented part of my summer home to my tenant Rick and his family 7 years ago he had to leave his car at the Lion's Head garage to be repaired and then had to walk a few kilometres back home along with his young son. While Rick and his son were walking home Paul offered them a ride, not knowing at that time where they lived or that they were my tenants until Rick told him. That was just one example of his kindness and generosity that we who knew or were related to him will sorely miss now that he is gone.
