Obituary of Muriel Tompkins

TOMPKINS, Muriel Christabel passed away peacefully early on February 20, 2023 with her great-niece, Sarah Perrault, beside her. Muriel was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on August 27, 1922 and moved to Ontario in 1937 with her parents, brother and sisters where she lived in Thedford, London and Lion's Head. Predeceased by her parents, Harry and Irene (née James) Tompkins, sisters Irene and Edith, brother Harry and brothers-in-law, Robert Mansfield and Donald Runnalls. She will be missed by her sisters, Ruth Tompkins, Kathleen Mansfield, both of Lion's Head, and Enid Runnalls of London, as well as many nephews and nieces. She worked in the diet kitchens of Beck Memorial Sanatorium and later at the University Hospital. We are deeply grateful to Dale Latimer, Sarah Perrault, Howard James and Mary Dale Ashcroft who cared for her during these last months, allowing her to stay in her home until the end as she wished. The funeral service will be conducted at Christ Church Anglican, Lion's Head on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 12:00 noon with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
