Obituary of Lorne Weir

WEIR, Lorne Archibald peacefully with family by his side at Country Lane Long Term Care, Chatsworth on Friday, June 23, 2023. Lorne Weir of Chatsworth and formerly of Wiarton in his 94th year. Lorne was predeceased by wife Mary (nee Cunningham) of 69 years on June 4, 2022. Cherished father of Ruth of Wiarton, Dave (Carol) of Mar, Janice Cameron (Finley) of Lion's Head and Dennis (Trudy) of Vanderhoof, B.C. Survived by 11 grandchildren, Bonnie, Ray, Karen and Earl Cameron, Barb, Brad, Ben and Will Weir and Paul, Candace and Scott Weir and by 11 great-grandchildren. Survived by a sister Maisie Hepburn (Howard) and 2 sisters-in-law Flossie Miller and Margaret Cramm. Predeceased by parents Alice (nee White) and Archie Weir, in-laws Mary Jane and James Cunningham, brothers Don (Joyce), Harvey (Betty) and Jack (Clara), sisters Mildred McArthur (Jack), Edna Day (Allan), Hester Cunningham (Tom), Janet Barnes (Roy) and Marie (in infancy), brothers-in-law Gerald Cunningham (Winnie), Glen Miller, Dave Cunningham (Ruth) and Allan Cramm and sister-in-law Bessie Phillips (Bill Chappel and Lawrence Phillips).

Family and friends are invited to share memories at the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton on Monday, June 26th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home Tuesday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment Colpoy's Bay Cemetery, Wiarton.
