Obituary of Elaine Foris
FORIS, Elaine - The family announces with heartfelt sorrow the death of Shirley Elaine Foris (nee Hilliker), who passed peacefully on August 26, 2023. Elaine was the beloved wife of John Foris and cherished mother of Graham and his wife Trish, of Calgary, Mark and his wife Val, of London and Shari and her husband Mark of London. She will be forever missed by her grandchildren Nicole, Craig, Eric, Alexandra, Kingsley, Lauren, Julia and Jacob and step grandchildren Megan, Ryan and Scott. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brother Murray and his wife Janet and nephews Jeremy and Tyler, as well as the entire Foris and Hilliker families.
Elaine graduated from Norwich High School and continued her studies to become a teacher where she graduated from Teachers College in London, Ontario. Her career started as an Elementary teacher in Hamilton. Her love, involvement and study of music throughout her life was evident as her career continued as an Elementary School Music teacher with the Hamilton and Brantford School Boards where she taught and touched the hearts of many young aspiring musicians and accompanied numerous choirs and musicals on the piano.
She was devoted to her faith throughout her life as an active member of Fairview United Church and Brant Avenue United Church in Brantford. She was devoted to St. John's United Church in Wiarton, where she was organist and musical director for the St. John's Community and a member of the Board of Directors. She was also active and loved being part of the Community Choir in Wiarton.
Most importantly, Elaine devoted her life to her family - to her husband of 64 years, children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her fond smile, her graceful compassion and her unending love and support. She is our heavenly angel who will be greatly missed.

The funeral service to remember, cherish and honour Elaine will be conducted at St. John's United Church, Wiarton on Sunday, September 10th at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton. As expressions of sympathy, the family would welcome donations to the Wiarton Hospital Foundation c/o Bruce Peninsula Hospitals Foundation or Chapman House Residential Hospice, Owen Sound.
