Obituary of Frits Vanarnhem

VANARNHEM, Frits peacefully with family by his side at Gateway Haven Nursing Home, Wiarton on Sunday, September 10, 2023.  Frits Vanarnhem formerly of Owen Sound and Grimsby in his 99th year.  Beloved husband of the late Geertrui 'Trudy' Vanarnhem (2019).  Cherished father of Ed and his wife Maureen of Lion's Head.  Much loved Opa of Joshua (Bethany) and Sonja (Adam) and G-Opa of Megan, Luke, Ruby, Avery and Levi.  Missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by brothers Jan Vanarnhem, Johon 'Yop' Vanarnhem (Corrie) and Dolf Vanarnhem (Pita) and sisters Nelle Hijkoop and Klazina Van Ingen (Herman).

Frits had an interesting and varied working career ultimately retiring from Dofasco after 34 years in December 1988.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. John Van Dorp and the staff at Gateway Haven Nursing Home, Wiarton as well as Dr. Fred Veenstra and the 'old guard' staff at Central Place, Owen Sound for their incredible care and compassion.
