Obituary of Lynette Taylor

TAYLOR, Lynette passed peacefully at home  surrounded by her family after a brief illness on Saturday, October 7, 2023  in her 82nd year.  Devoted wife of Jim Taylor for 39 years.  Loving mother of Jennifer Weatherhead (Willy), Patricia Taylor and the late Glenna Miller who preceded her 2018.  Loving 'Grandma-Net' to Cassidy Weatherhead (Stephanie), Dillon Weatherhead (Teresa), Erin Smith (Bill), Trichia Martin (Andrew), Bronson Taylor (Katie) and Crystal Peters and a doting great grandmother to 18 precious great grandchildren.  Lovingly remembered by her Taylor and Scott stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Remembered by her sister-in-law Margaret Urbshott, Donna Taylor and  brother-in-law Jack Taylor (Janet) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Predeceased by parents Bernadette (nee Rouse) and Seaman Tigert.

Lynette, born in Toronto on December 16, 1941, was the only child to Seaman and Bernadette Tigert. The family moved back to Lion's Head when her father, Seaman Tigert, became the Lion's Head Harbour Master.  Together they were all the proud owners of the Lion's Head Beach Motel for many years.

She was a proud mother to Jennifer, Patti and Glenna, who she spoke to almost every day. She loved vacation times with her girls and the Lion's Head crew.  She worked tirelessly and forged many lifelong friendships.  Hairdresser and entrepreneur, Lynette was always dressed to the nines and ready for a coffee, a visit, a hand of cards and putting on many, many meals at her kitchen table, although you could always eat off her floor it was so clean! Many friends will miss her hosting them for meals and coffee.

Having known Jim Taylor since childhood they connected again and married celebrating 39 years of marriage on September 22 this year.  They founded and ran Taylor Bed and Breakfast for many years proudly hosting many to their beloved Peninsula! They loved to dance the two-step together and there was always a fresh coffee on!

She loved being a grandma and enjoyed all her summer times with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
