Deepest Sympathy to all of Monty's family. Monty was such a nice man. Was always so friendly whenever we were at his store. He was a large part of the Wiarton community and gave back to the Town so generously.
He will be missed by all of his many friends and family.
May he rest in God's Peace.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Bennett Family this morning as they prepare to attend Monty's funeral.
Twas a privilege to not only know Monty, (as many in our community did) but also to fly with him.
God bless you all as you individually grieve his passing and I trust, celebrate his life as well.
Monty leaves me with nothing but fond memories and an example as to how to live my life.

I am so sorry to read of Monty's passing. I remember him in Bennett's Wingham store. I can still visualize the candy counter and as a kid that was the most important part of the store. Monty was the perfect store owner, great with the customers and always wanting to chat with everyone. He reminded me of my father (Murray Taylor) who at the same time owned the Frosty Queen. I would also like to extend sympathies to Patricia and her family. I went to public school with Jan. Hold your memories of your father, grandfather, brother and uncle close to your heart and he will always be with you.

Geri,Paul,Donna,John, pls accept our condolences on the passing of your father, Monty. Monty made a positive impression on me when I was a boy of around 11 years old. I went in to his 5 to $ store in Wingham and purchased a small box of " caps" to make a toy gun bang like a real one, at a cost of 5 cents. When I left the store and opened the box it was empty. I took it back in to Monty, expecting he would think I had removed the caps and was trying to get a freebie. However Monty not only believed me he seemed to understand my disappointment and gave me another box. I left the store happy and with a feeling of trust. Bruce and Carol Haselgrove

Whether on the street in his retirement or earlier in the store chatting with Monty was always worthwhile and amusing. He was kindly man who loved to fly and would gladly take you with him. He will be missed.

Geri, Paul, Donna, John & Families….
Sorry to hear of Monty’s passing. In addition to Monty and I sharing a birthday, Jim and I have many good memories of both your Dad and your Mom. I just loved Monty’s sense of humour and his never-ending smile for everyone, along with his greetings that made you feel like an old friend everyday. I enjoyed our many chats of the “old days” and of course, shared many laughs. He was always a ready, willing & able generous volunteer in his community - with that signature “Monty Smile” that greeted you any time you walked in the store. I am glad that he was blessed with such a lovely family for so long, and many years enjoying retirement.
Cherish your many wonderful memories of Monty. Laugh, cry, talk and reminisce about your Dad - it will be comforting.
We pray for your strength and peace, knowing that your Dad’s Eternal Flight has only just begun. God Bless All.
Fondly, Vicki & Jim Doubt

Our deepest condolences to Montys family. He was a great guy as was his Dad. Bennetts 5 & dime was the BEST place for any kid to go shopping. From the neatest toys, to fire crackers, and any other things that could enter into a childs imagination. We also had many wonderful times with Geri, Bob & the kids when they lived in our area, The Bennett name will always bring a smile to our face
and to our Hearts. All the Angels will be lined up the day Monty opens that wonderful candy counter up !!!!!
Thanks Monty for everything you did for the world !!
Sincerely;
Andy & Linda Smart

So sorry to hear about Monty. He was our neighbour for a number of years and he was such a warm and friendly man. It's a great loss. Their door was always open for a visit. When we were clearing our lot many years ago Eileen and Monty gave us a freshly made loaf of bread. You never forget the kindnesses of good neighbours.
Our condolences to the family.
Carol and Brian Porter.

We are so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a great friend to everyone. I had the privilege of working with he and Eileen at the store. We all had a great time together.
