Obituary of George Ashcroft

ASHCROFT, George 1939-2024 - Loyal family member, best friend, willing volunteer, daring entrepreneur, helpful newspaper “boy”, and avid recycler.  George passed away peacefully on May 8 at the age of 85. Brother of Fay Ashcroft (dec), Shirley Leeder (Red dec), Lawrence Ashcroft (dec) (Edythe dec), Wilfred Ashcroft (Eileen dec), Freda Greaves (Bud), John Ashcroft (Margaret), Don Ashcroft (dec) (Bonnie) and Mary Stephens. Special longtime friend of Judy Bruyn and Jeyas Balaskanthan. Several nieces and nephews will miss his interesting stories about his eccentric life. We want to sincerely thank the nurses on Freeport Palliative Care for their tender and constant care of George, especially Rosemary.

A graveside service will be held at Edgehill Cemetery, Colpoys Bay, Thursday, May 16, 1:00 p.m.  Arrangements entrusted to the GEORGE FUNERAL HOME, Wiarton.  Expressions of remembrance to The Working Centre, Kitchener would be appreciated.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family through www.georgefuneralhome.com
