Graeme and Ann from New Zealand say a sad farewell to Ruth. We took to Ruth the instant we met her as Katie's mum and son Steve's mother-in-law, when she and John came to visit us in Picton. Lively, interesting and interested, we remember Ruth as game for any adventure. She was so kind and welcoming to Graeme when he later visited the Bainbridge/Yeoman family in Canada. We send condolences once more to Katie, Stewart, Steve and Eleanor. We wish we could join you for the celebration of Ruth's life.

To the Bainbridge family. I am so sorry to hear of Ruth’s death. She was my boss in Iqaluit at the College and helped me immensely. I have many fond memories of Ruth and John and lots of good times up there. My sympathies especially to Katie who took me into The Bainbridge Suite in New Zealand. Sad news for me today Sally Naphan

My sympathies to the family of my friend and Museum Committee mentor Ruth Bainbridge. Along with many museum friends, I volunteered (at Ruth's request, I add) for eight years together, helping to preserve our community memories and objects at St. Edmunds Bruce Peninsula Museum. Her time and strong dedication are both appreciated and missed. She had wonderful stories and experiences to share of growing up in Tobermory and her life nursing in the North. I am so very sorry to read of Ruth’s passing. I think that I am still in shock and disbelief that John is gone, too. As Clerk in NBP, I worked with both Ruth and John. I always admired their zest for life, their love of family and community and especially their broad knowledge.
