Obituary of Daniel Greatrex

GREATREX, Daniel peacefully in his sleep at his Hepworth residence Monday September 2, 2024. Dan Greatrex of Hepworth in his 63rd year. Cherished father of Brenley (Daniel) and dear brother of Russell Greatrex (Mary Ellen), Stephen Greatrex (Beth) and Darlene Wilkes.  Predeceased by parents Evelyn May (nee Gambell) and Bud Earl Greatrex.

In his early years he was an outstanding hockey player having played as an all-star for many years. Dan was active in the horse industry for most of his life working at several well known stables. He spent many winters in Florida attending horse shows and tending to the horses. Dan was an avid reader who enjoyed his friends and sharing a beer and telling stories around a campfire. His favorite places to be were at the family cottage in the Halliburtons and in the Kawarthas at Buckhorn lake. Dans pride and joy was his daughter Brenley. Dan made friends easily and will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
