Dear Mark and family
The whole Arsenault/Chipman family was deeply saddened to learn of Cathy’s passing and send our love and virtual hugs to all of you…..Mark, Steve, David, Katie, Danika, Palmer and of course, mother Lou. We met 35 years ago in St George at the co op play school , Cathy babysat our 3rd child, and our friendship grew from there. Despite distance separating us for most of those years Cathy’s unwavering kindness, generosity of spirit, optimism, love of family and friends all shone through. A very special person. She was kindness and gentleness personified.
We’ll cherish all of the happy times that we did have together and carry those thoughts of her forever. Much love and sympathy to the whole family at this very difficult time.

Please accept my condolences. I'll always remember Cathy's friendly nature, her kindness and laughter, and I'm thankful for having known her. Mark, I'll always be grateful for how you and Cathy continued to stay in touch with my parents with phone calls and visits over the many many years it has been since we were neighbours; gestures that speak to your character, and that were always appreciated. It's been a long road to be certain, but too short as well and I pray that you will find comfort in the beautiful memories that I'm sure you will treasure. A wonderful wife, mother, and simply a beautiful person gone too soon.

Remembering Cathy,
On behalf of Brightshores Wiarton Hospital Auxiliary, we extend our deepest sympathy to Mark and his family. Cathy became a valued member of our Auxiliary 28 years ago when she joined in the fall of 1996. Cathy’s calm demeanor, sense of humour and positive attitude made her a pleasure to volunteer with selling HELLP lottery tickets at Foodland or any other task she was asked to help with. When her son wanted to volunteer at Wiarton hospital and there was no “Teen Volunteers”, Cathy created and supervised the program that would give the younger participants the opportunity to earn volunteer hours. Members of the Brightshores Wiarton Hospital Auxiliary would like to take this opportunity to thank Life Member, Cathy Young for her many years of dedication.

Dearest Mark….How did Cathy know, that first time we stayed at your bed and breakfast, that we would become such fast and long time friends? She just knew…and we feel so honoured that we’ve had that friendship. What fantastic times we’ve had! Lots of fun weekends snowshoeing, time in Collingwood together, you guys visiting us in London, and our fabulous two week trip to the east Coast! Those are some wonderful memories. But we’ve also been friends through illnesses, and parental loss and retirements and other life issues. Cathy was ALWAYS the calm in the storm. She and I have had the opportunity to share grandkid stories back and forth the last few months on Messenger…and I will treasure those conversations. We will miss her terribly.
